To cruise or not to cruise (think Corona)? Seriously!!!

Tonight we are planning to board a flight to Ft. Lauderdale where we will hopefully embark on a cruise ship headed for the Panama Canal. This 11 day adventure is to be shared with good friends from Texas, Steve and Liz. In recent days we have attended several gatherings where travel plans  have been part of conversations since we live in a neighborhood where someone is always off on one adventure or another. Of coarse, when we shared our travel plans, the Corona virus scare comes into play since it’s sadly spreading to many parts of  the world. We are either brave or foolish, but we plan to proceed unless something unforeseen happens to prevent it. Armed with lots of vitamins, minerals, antibiotics, antibacterial wipes and face masks, we are off to sail the seas. “But aren’t you worried or afraid”?some have asked. We are cautious and as prepared as possible, but truly not afraid for we are reminded in II Timothy 1:7 “ For God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.“ We also have the “lazy traveler” syndrome. That’s why cruising works well for us. Arrive on ship, unpack, play lazy tourist for days while seeing different ports. Voila! And, of course, eat way too much food! However, if you should hear that we are quarantined somewhere, please pray for this claustrophobic, germaphobe to keep the faith and not drive poor husband crazy! If we are confronted with illness or rough seas, perhaps we shall just burst into song with the words that are now going through my mind, “When the world is tossing me like a ship upon seas, Thou who rules the wind and waters, stand by me.”  Closing now with the very serious  request that we all be in prayer for people the world over who have been exposed to the corona virus and that this threat be quickly eradicated. It is truly a serious matter, not to be taken lightly. Stay healthy!

Have a super time! Make sure you wash your hands all the time. Also, keep your hands off all the handrails and try, try , try not to touch everything. Lastly, HAND SANITIZER!!!!!
